A Little About Me.
First of All, Welcome!
I'm Shelby. I'm so happy you're here! I'm your biggest hype girl, newest friend, and hopefully your photographer! I specialize in shooting couples, intimate weddings, and elopements. I came across this little niche of mine early on when I would binge watch all the sappy love story movies & think about them for days on end. I'm a sucker for a good love story.
How I got here?
I always told my parents I wanted to travel, have fun, & help others when I grew up. They jokingly asked, "so you want to be a circus clown?" .. Well I'm not a circus clown. But I have managed to achieve all of those dreams through this business of mine and being a full time RN on top of it all.
I am foot to the pedal at all times but I wouldn't change it for the world. I love what I do.
I started taking photos at an early age on my little flip phone, then on my CoolPix digital camera & got my first DSLR for my 16th birthday. I was in Heaven. Throughout high school and college, I took lots of photography classes & I still make it a point to educate myself in an effort to perfect my art all these years later. I knew where I wanted to take this thing. 12 years later, here I am.
Outside of All of That?
I genuinely love traveling, whether for work or not. Some of my favorite travels have been packing up a camper van and driving through Utah and Arizona to see Zion National Park, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, & The Grand Canyon camping along the way; traveling solo for the first time to see Seattle, Forks and Olympic National Park; staying in the middle of the rainforest in Costa Rica and so many others.
I'm a National Park Junkie. My goal is to mark all of them off my list. There are 63. Thirteen down, lots to go!
When back at home in Indiana, I enjoy all the granny hobbies like gardening, canning, or quilting. I also really love simply being around my family and close friends. Sometimes it's just nice getting together and having a Sunday family dinner after church and just being present. I'm a firm believer in simply being present. In a world full of craziness and the rabbit hole of social media, this is important to me.
I'm a Christian. Like Jesus, I will love you no matter what walk of life you came from, what you believe in, or who you are.
